8:30-10:00 Using Read Alouds to Support Social Emotional Learning Standards and the Approaches to Play and Learning Standards

Participants will become familiar with the MA standards for social emotional learning (SEL) and approaches to play and learning (APL). Using popular children’s books, we will identify popular children’s books which address the SEL/APL standards to address classroom skill deficits, teach positive behavioral expectations, and carry over skills from school to home and the community.

As student need continues to increase, how can the preschool teacher support all learners? This session will review 10 highly effective visual supports to utilize across the preschool day to enhance the language, social and behavioral skills of all students. Short cuts on organizing and implementing these supports consistently will be shared.
